Nice to meet you!

I’m Lauren. I have a degree in English and almost ten years of professional experience in writing, editing, marketing, and project management.

When I’m not working, I’m sipping coffee and reading the next book on my never-ending TBR list. I also love cozy games, plants, and music. Ask me about my different revolving-door hobbies!

I’m passionate about helping writers bring their stories to life. I’ve loved stories and reading my whole life. Growing up, I loved escaping into fiction and getting to know all the different characters I met there. I’ve always known I wanted to be a part of bringing stories to life, and I’m so glad I can do that now professionally.

My dream author clients are folks who crave story and want to share their characters with the world! If that’s you, I’d love to chat and hear more about your hopes and goals for your work.

My past jobs helped me unlock my knack for project management and marketing. My brain is wired for organization and novelty. Now, I get to use the expertise I gained wearing many different hats throughout my career to support business owners as a virtual assistant. My goal is to make your life easier so you can focus on what you do best, instead of the tedious behind-the-scenes administrative work that I actually love.

My dream VA clients are those looking to scale a small business or simply have goals they really believe in and need a little extra help to make them happen. If that’s you, reach out and I’d be excited to hear about what you do!

What’s it like to work with me?

  • Hannah Stokes | Singer/Songwriter

Working with Lauren has completely changed my workflow. As a full-time self-employed musician, delegating as much of the administrative and business management work as I can so that I have more time to make music, develop my craft, and live my life has been a main priority for me. Lauren takes every task I assign to her, from email management to content creation, and completes it with excellence and in a timely manner. I have more mental space and emotional energy to get to the projects I want to work on because I don’t have to worry about managing my inbox and living in my calendar. I highly recommend her services to any small business owner looking to make space in their day for the things they actually care about!!

  • Anna B. | Author

I was genuinely so excited to receive Lauren’s editorial notes on my novel-in-the-works. Her feedback is thorough, yet broken down into sections that are easy to find and refer back to when editing. I found the formatting of her notes a strength that makes her stand out from other editors I’ve worked with in the past. The quick accessibility saves a lot of time and energy for authors who are knee-deep in the process.

Everything she pointed out was helpful, and the tone of her suggestions was warm. I could also tell she took the time to really dive into my novel and try to understand it, which is so, so important. It’s very motivational for me as a writer when my collaborators are excited about my story and characters, and Lauren was — very much so! It encouraged me to keep my momentum and finish strong, making my novel as best as it can be.

I definitely plan to work with Lauren again in the future. There is no doubt that my book is better because of her!

Lauren is a delight to work with! She is creative, collaborative, and a very talented editor. Her work is always thorough and well thought out. Lauren does a great job communicating with her clients on projects and has a reputation for meeting deadlines. I appreciate her eye for detail and ease to work alongside. I highly recommend Lauren for your next project!

Why Inkverse Creative?

I’ve always been inspired by great authors like Jane Austen, Madeleine L’Engle, Stephen King, Cornelia Funke, and J.R.R. Tolkien. The name “Inkverse Creative” is inspired in part by Funke’s Inkheart series (the books that inspired me to pursue writing) and Tolkien’s Inklings literary group. I believe we all have a universe of ideas within us. We must choose creativity to bring that universe to life.

Fun fact: I’ve never read any of Stephen King’s fiction, but his biography On Writing helped shape me as a writer.
